This Privacy Policy explains how Vinyl Designer (“we”, “us”) collects and uses personal data when you visit our website, create an account, buy a license, or contact support.

1. Data we collect

  • Account data — name, email, password (hashed), and profile details you provide
  • Billing data — plan, payment status, and provider references (Stripe / PayPal). Card numbers are handled by those providers, not stored on our servers
  • License data — license keys, activation site URLs, and related status
  • Support data — tickets, messages, and contact form submissions
  • Technical data — IP address, browser type, and basic server logs for security and debugging

2. How we use data

  • Provide the portal, licenses, downloads, and plugin activation API
  • Process payments and prevent fraud
  • Respond to support and contact requests
  • Send transactional email (receipts, license keys, security notices)
  • Improve reliability and security of the Service

We do not sell your personal data.

3. Legal bases (UK / EU)

Where GDPR / UK GDPR applies, we rely on contract performance (providing the Service), legitimate interests (security, product improvement), and consent where required (e.g. non-essential cookies if introduced).

4. Sharing

We share data with processors who help us run the Service: hosting, email delivery, Stripe, and PayPal. They may only process data on our instructions. We may disclose data if required by law or to protect rights and safety.

5. Cookies

We use essential cookies for sessions, authentication, and CSRF protection. If we add analytics cookies later, we will update this policy and obtain consent where required.

6. Retention

We keep account and license records while your account is active and as needed for legal, tax, and dispute purposes. Support tickets are retained for operational history unless you ask us to delete content we can reasonably remove.

7. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or portability of your personal data, and object to certain processing. Contact us via Contact. You may also lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority (in the UK, the ICO).

8. Children

The Service is intended for business users and adults. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16.

We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do.
